General Commands for Device Control
General Device Commands
Most device commands are specific for a certain type of device or even for a certain device. For example, the Flow command is available for pumps and the Inject command is available for autosamplers. However, some commands are available independent of the device type:

Indicates whether the instrument is connected to Chromeleon, that is, under computer control (also, see Connect, Disconnect). |

The following commands and properties appear very often. However, they are not available for every device:

Alarm |
Reports whether an alarm is pending. Default value: Off. |
DriverID |
Unambiguous driver name (read-only). |
DriverManufacturer |
Manufacturer of the driver. |
DriverVersion |
Indicates the driver version (read-only). |
FirmwareVersion |
Indicates the firmware version of the instrument (read-only). Tip: Firmware files have the extension .hex, e.g., VWD3000.hex. The firmware versions of the available .hex files can be viewed in the IQReport.log file located in the IQ directory of the Chromeleon installation. For detailed information about firmware update refer to the operating instructions of the module. |

Reports the main board revision of the connected device. |
Manufacturer |
Indicates the manufacturer of the driver (read-only). |
ModelNo |
Indicates the instrument type (read-only). |
MuteAlarm |
Command to mute the audible alarm. |
Ready |
Ready indicates that the instrument
is ready for operation, i.e., no Autozero is started, the temperature
has been reached, no error has occurred. |
Resets the instrument to its initial conditions, as attained after power-up. |

Indicates the serial number of the instrument (read-only). |
